West Virginia is located in the Appalachian area of the United States in the southern part. It is surrounded by Ohio in the northwest, Maryland in the northeast, Kentucky in the southwest, Pennsylvania in the north and Virginia in the southeast. It gained its statehood in 1861 and its capital is Charleston.

Taxes on silver sales
There is a specific transactions sales tax rate in West Virginia. This tax is applied for each sale and represents 6% of the price. There are some additional local sales tax required by cities or/and by the county, consequently the total sale tax amount varies between 6% and 7%.
No tax exemption for buying silver coins and bullion in this state.
