Oregon is located in what is called the Pacific Northwest of the United States. It is bounded by Washington in the north, California in the south, Nevada in the southeast Idaho in the east and Pacific Ocean in the west. Its name is a derivative of either a mythical river or perhaps comes from a French word ‘ouragan’ meaning hurricanes.
Its earliest settlers were Native Americans before the advent of traders and explorers. It is the fourth largest cultivator of hazelnut in the world and has a history of wineries that has made it the 3rd largest producer of wine in pan America!
